Greetings all! Over the past many years, I have b

Greetings all!

Over the past many years, I have been called to support artists, designers, builders, medicine workers, leaders of spaces of deep connection in doing our individual and collective work. I have been called to cohere us for a big vision, a vision of building a new physical space of deep connection. In some ways, I feel unhinged when I admit what I am truly here for on this planet - the creation of new spaces, but that is the only way I feel like myself. My job here is to hold a big vision, a vision of using movement, art, and design to construct and redesign spaces. My job is to learn to rally the troops who are committed to space building. My job is to learn to rally the resources to make this work, this Work, possible. My job is to physically manifest that we can and are creating the spaces that we seek. For numerology folks, I've been told my soul urge number is 3 (def correlates to Aries moon energy), and I heard that 3 energy is divine feminine energy, broken down into the phases "the maiden, the mother, and the crone." I feel like I am entering my "mother" phase - that I am desiring to nurture and support us in doing our work of creating spaces of deep connection, home, family. Come along with me for the building of Raw Movement :).

It's 2023 and we are all gayer than we thought and

It's 2023 and we are all gayer than we thought and also apparently we are all autistic hehehe. I came on here to tell you all some momentous news! I got my driver's license! The main thing that I think about when posting this most amazing news about being a driver is that a lot of people will not understand how %^&& difficult it was for me to learn to drive. I started learning to drive 2.5 years ago with my dad. He literally gave up and I moved on to my mom after a break.

Because of -- well feeling the intergenerational pain of 10,000 generations and 100 billion people -- aka what many term "chronic illness" (which I am recovering from), I am easily overwhelmed, overstimulated, light sensitive, noise sensitive, blurry vision, ear ringing, migraine-y, and uhh irritable hehe. My brain and memory have a lot to deal with just trying to survive aka process the pain of 10,000 generations and 100 billion people (aka my body is in a state of disconnection, mirroring all the toxins I and those around me have received) so it's hard to pay attention and make quick decisions on the road.

I share this because I am so proud of myself that I did a thing that was extremely hard for me. I share it because I know there are folks of neurodivergent brains that can relate to that sense of accomplishment but also that feeling of will-anyone-understand-because-neurotypicalism-and-ableism-are-rampant. I share because uhh I'm all about being my raw self, and that includes expressing that some things be hard for me that other people find easy. I share it because diagnostic labels are profoundly inaccurate and accurate simultaneously. I share it because I truly feel that folks most affected by ableism, neurotypicalism - that we are so powerful. And we don't need to learn how to do the thing (eg, drive) that everyone else does to be powerful. I believe that within the shame created by neurotypicalism, ableism, by labelling, etc. - we learn that we were meant to build something new, and maybe even use that pain and wisdom of 10,000 generations and 100 billion people that exists within us, to create it. About a week ago, my mom asked me to find a positive or inspirational quote to put in goodie bags for our upcoming family reunion. When I remembered that I’m a writer who also has collected quotes my whole life, I scrolled through my poetry and saw 99% of my poetry is about death. Actually death, suffering, and conflict hahaha. Might they not find this to be inspirational? Haha. Being realistic, I tried to choose the two poems that appeared slightly more upbeat. Alas, expressing that which we feel and sense but keep inside is what I am here to do. I am physically uncomfortable when there is something we are collectively feeling but I or we are not expressing it. There can be so much vitality in the expression of that which we think is deadening. Anyways, my two recent posts made me a bit uncomfortable - because anything that is too positive, that does not touch on the truth of our suffering is not whole, is partial, is empty to me. A part of me is afraid that I will scare people away if I am too direct about how much the rawness in raw movement means (directness via yours truly, Aries moon) - that they won’t understand that we will go slow and that it is about creating playful, celebratory space for us to gradually sense, feel, express. But I would be a liar to say that Raw Movement is not about raw movement. It is truly and deeply about creating space for us to collectively feel our raw feelings within our current collective experience.

Hi. This is me moving. Well, being moved (something @kristinsudeikisdance talks so much about in her classes through the years!). For me, my approach to movement-making and leading spaces initially has nothing to do with actual raw movement. It has to do with creating a space of deep connection, of home, of family, of emotional safety where we are able to (energetically, emotionally, physically) to be moved.
