Joyful boys turn into silenced men, but what happens when enough is enough?

My roles on the film: creator, producer, director, choreographer.

As my second dance film, I’m proud of the story we were able to capture and learned so much about filmmaking and cinematography in this process. Inspired by my worry about my brothers, this film is my heart & I hope that it moves each and every person who watches.

Woman Versus (2016)

Woman Versus (2016)

Still Image from Woman Versus. Directed by Justina Grayman. Shot & edited by Joseph Adcroft.

My first dance film! A woman is trapped in a system of machines.

My roles on the film: creator, producer, director, choreographer.

So proud of not compromising on the integrity of my first project and mostly proud of the community of women we were able to create. This project really taught me that trust among the cast and crew is essential for the risk-taking that is necessary to create reality on camera. To be honest, I can’t really watch this anymore because there is so much I’d change at this point but as a first film I am so proud of my younger self for going for it!

Celebrations of Black Men (2018)

Celebrations of Black Men (2018)

A live performance and celebration space.

My roles in this work: co-producer, co-host, choreographer.

In this sacred, celebratory dance, three dancers bowed to, individually connected with, and expressed love for a group of thirty Black men. Presented in collaboration with Gibney, New York, NY.

Untitled (2019)

Untitled (2019)

An experimental live interactive performance of raw expression.

My role: choreographer.

This performance explored gestures and dynamics related to anxiety, stress, and nervousness. The movements expressed ways in which anxiety shows up in natural movement and how we attempt to hide it. The performance invited the audience to experience the nervous gestures. Presented at Outlet Dance Project, Hamilton, NJ. The clip is an excerpt of rehearsal footage.
